EasyTRA now supports both IUCLID 5.4 and 5.5 and automatically chooses the correct version during connection.
Among multiple improvements version 3.6 adds the possibility to suppress a calcution for any single scenario (worker, consumer and environment) together with a justification (e.g. cosmetics under REACH). EasyTRA 3.6 also adds a custom RMM-phrases database which can be used to build up user-defined SpERCs.

EasyTRA now supports the latest changes from ECETOC version 3 and offers the most comfortable way to work with this model. Among many improvements EasyTRA now supports the fully automatic export to IUCLID 5.4.1 chapter 3.7.1 (the latest WebServices from ECHA are necessary) to further ease your every day work life.

Other new features in EasyTRA 3.5 include a plausibility check, new tier 2 and tier 3 settings and a full-featured environmental report.

To support older datasets in IUCLID 5 we offer a tool to fix incomplete scenarios in chapter 3.5, free of charge for all license holders. To further support legacy data, we offer an EasyTRA plugin, which can import data from an existing ECETOC 3 file to EasyTRA. Please contact us for more information.

EasyTRA: New tools for more realistic consumer exposure assessments

The new version of EasyTRA represents a  technological leap over its predecessors by integrating the algorithms of CONSEXPO 4.1, the most used model for consumer exposure calculations, to allow state of the art exposure assessments. This opens up opportunities for a more realistic exposure modeling and better risk assessments which are then also documented in the same high quality typical of Easy TRA.

Catering to the requests of our users, functionalities were introduced that allow both short- and long-term qualitative risk assessments of local and systemic consumer exposure, thereby closing the final gap in the exposure assessments required by REACH.

EasyTRA is a unique tool for the calculation of exposure scenarios according to REACH and is compatible with IUCLID 5.3. It automatically generates Chapters 9 and 10 of the CSR and creates the appendix for the extended safety data sheet. A trial version of EasyTRA 3.0 with somewhat limited functionalities is also available, free of charge, as a download HERE on our website. Should you already be an EasyTRA licensee, you can activate the new version with your license code. For the activation of the CONSEXPO functionality you will need the new Expert-Plus license.

EasyTRA calculates Tier 1 exposure scenarios on the basis of algorithms from the ECETOC® TRA Integrated Tool. During an analysis we noticed that for substances with low fugacity a deviation occurs between the ECETOC® Integrated Tool and the ECETOC® Worker Tool. The correct algorithm is used by the Worker Tool. Therefore, we updated our software in order to adapt the algorithm. Please note that deviations may occur with existing exposure data sets that in some cases may lead to disadvantageous exposure results. We already communicated the error to ECETOC® and also the Integrated Tool will be updated soon.

As ECHA has recently published IUCLID 5.3, and only accepts dossiers in a 5.3 format, we have promptly updated EasyTRA. EasyTRA is now fully compatible with IUCLID 5.3. Furthermore, we have integrated a number of new functions that depict exposure scenarios even more realistically. In the EUSES Advanced Mode, you can program environmental scenarios by modifying every single parameter, and EasyTRA 2.2 now allows you to incorporate external exposure measurement values or calculated values from other simulation tools.

Please note that EasyTRA 2.2 is no longer compatible with IUCLID 5.2 and exclusively runs under IUCLID 5.3. Your existing TRA files are, of course, also upwardly compatible with Version 2.2.

In the past few months EasyTRA has become increasingly complex and comprehensive with the help and thanks to the feedback of our customers. EasyTRA, the comprehensive risk assessment tool has been further improved to generate the annex to the extended safety data sheet for registered substances. This gives you certainty for REACH compliance also beyond the registration itsself.

An extended Safety Data Sheet (eSDS) must be produced for all REACH-registered substances, containing an appendix with details of all safe applications. EasyTRA is the first software application that now enables chemical companies to produce these appendices automatically.EasyTRA is not only one of the most powerful tools available to assist in the creation and modeling of exposure scenarios for REACH compliance, it is currently the only one to offer the full set of functionalities required.

EasyTRA 2.1.1 can be downloaded as a trial version free of charge HERE from our website. The eSDS function is disabled in the trial version but you can download an example annex HERE. If you are already an EasyTRA licensee, you can activate the new version with your existing license key.

We have used the past two months to improve EasyTRA still further and especially to incorporate the experiences of our customers into the developments. Practical relevance has always been our yardstick, and we welcome all feedback, input and suggestions from you, the users.

One important point to note first of all is that EasyTRA 2.1 now runs only under Java 1.6, that is to say the release that is also required for running IUCLID 5.2. If necessary, please update your version of Java before beginning to work with EasyTRA 2.1.

We take pleasure in introducing the latest function extension of EasyTRA one week earlier than planned. EasyTRA 1.2 enables calculations of combined exposure scenarios from different scenarios, as demanded by REACH. You can combine an unlimited number of Consumer scenarios with up to 5 Worker scenarios and output all safe combinations in CSR in a tabular form. The risk ration, RCR, is also calculated and documented.

In addition, we have further optimized the import function for DUCC scenarios. An example file with accepted values can be found here.

EasyTRA licensees can download the new version 1.2 HERE immediately and activate it with their current license code. If you are interested but do not possess a license, you can download an example CSR on the basis of AISE scenarios, including combination exposures (page 360 ff.), for viewing.

We would also like to announce that we will be offering a free EasyTRA webinar in German on June 23. Using many examples, we will introduce the functionality and scope of application of EasyTRA. Technical details for registering for the webinar will soon be made available.

In mid-July we are planning an additional webinar in English.

As announced for May, our exposure simulation module now offers the much awaited CSR-generator plug-in; this new plug-in allows the output of all scenarios for Chapters 9 and 10 in the format specified by ECHA. Just a press of the button allows you to automatically generate all overviews starting from the documentation of the input values, to the calculation of the interim values and on to the risk characterization itself, with information provided throughout the various compartiments, uptake via food pathways, in addition to information on consumer and occupational uses. Since this function is not currently part of the trial version, if you are not yet an EasyTRA licensee, you can find an exemplary CSR on our website generated by easyTRA using the AISE-scenarios for your information. If you are already a EasyTRA licensee, all you have to do is download Version 1.1 from the website and to activate it with your current license code.

In addition, we have integrated additional support features based on feedback received from our customers. Many industry associations do not have environmental exposure scenarios integrated into the DUCC format files for the corresponding consumer or worker scenarios. EasyTRA now enables you to automatically add any missing environmental exposure scenario(s) by pressing the right mouse button thereby allowing you to efficiently fill-in these information gaps. In addition, the DUCC Importer was improved and can now process more input data.

The final module is also expected to be ready by mid-June. This module will allow the automatic calculation of combined-use exposure scenarios to be used as part of chapter 10 of the CSR. EasyTRA is the only currently available program that allows automatic calculations and REACH compliant documentation of exposure scenarios in a CSR compatible format.

On April 26 ECETOC (R) TRA 2010 released a new update. Since EasyTRA intends to be in compliance with ECETOC (R) TRA 2010 algorithms and defaults, we incorporated all changes of the April release in a timely manner.

If you are already a licencee of EasyTRA, please download version 1.01 and replace your existing version 1.0 accordingly. Your existing TRA files are compatible with the new release and do not need to be modified.

Furthermore we provide a new "get started" manual that explains basic functions of EasyTRA. The complete handbook with further practice oriented hints is available for licencees.
